1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the site, and information from third-party services you choose to connect.

2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to operate, improve, and secure DailyYardSales.com. Specifically:
- Display your listings and profile to other users
- Send email alerts when new sales match your saved searches (only if you opt in)
- Process featured listing payments through Stripe
- Detect and prevent fraudulent listings, spam, and abuse
- Keep search and listing quality working β using aggregated, anonymized data only
- Send transactional emails: listing confirmation, password resets, receipts
- Respond to your support requests and contact messages
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not: send unsolicited marketing emails, sell your data to data brokers, build advertising profiles, or use your data to train AI models without aggregation and anonymization.
5. Public Listings & Seller Information
When you post any listing β a sale, a vehicle, a property to let or a job β the following becomes publicly visible to all site visitors:
- The title, description and category of what you posted
- For a sale: the full address as entered (you may use a cross-street instead), plus dates and hours
- For a vehicle: make, model, year, mileage, price and the town it is in
- For a property: rent, bedrooms, features and the town β never your home address unless you enter it
- For a job: the role, employer name, pay and location
- Photos you upload
- Your display name
Your email address and phone number are never shown publicly, and are never given to the other party in a conversation β messages stay on the site. If you delete a listing, it is removed from public view immediately, though search engine caches may take several days to update.
6. Messages Between Buyers and Sellers
Enquiries and replies stay on DailyYardSales.com rather than moving to email or text. Concretely, that means:
- Neither side ever sees the otherβs email address or phone number. A guest supplies an email so we can send them their conversation link; the seller is never shown it, and an optional phone number is never shown to anyone.
- Message text and any photos you attach are encrypted before they are stored, with the key held separately from the database. Photos sent in a message go to a private store with no public address, and can only be opened by the two people in that conversation.
- Phone numbers and email addresses are automatically removed from message text. This is what keeps conversations on the site, where both sides are protected, rather than moving somewhere neither of us can help. You are told when it happens.
- No other member can read your conversation, and it is never used for advertising or sold to anyone.
Being straight with you about the limit of that: this is encryption in storage, not end-to-end encryption. We hold the key, so DailyYardSales.com is technically able to read message content, and would do so where the law requires it β a valid legal order, or investigating a report of fraud or abuse that you or the other party raised. We do not read conversations otherwise.
If you want a conversation to stop, use Report in the thread. That closes it and prevents further messages from either side.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords hashed using bcrypt β never stored in plain text
- Admin access protected by server-side password verification, rate limiting (5 attempts/15 min), and httpOnly session cookies
- Database access restricted to application service accounts with least-privilege permissions
- Payment data handled entirely by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified) β we never see your card number
- Regular security audits and dependency updates
No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it immediately to hello@dailyyardsales.com.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service and meet legal obligations:

9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access and deletion are self-service: Profile β Settings has Download My Data, which returns your data immediately as a file, and Delete My Account, which erases your account and every listing you have posted straight away. For anything else, email legal@dailyyardsales.com and we will respond within 30 days.
California residents: you have additional rights under the CCPA. We do not sell personal data, so opt-out of sale is not applicable. Contact us for your full CCPA rights.
10. Children's Privacy
DailyYardSales.com is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at legal@dailyyardsales.com and we will delete it promptly.
Users between 13 and 18 years old may use the site with parental consent and should not post home addresses publicly in listings.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:
- Update the βLast updatedβ date at the top of this page
- Send an email notification to all registered users
- Display a prominent notice on the site for 30 days
Your continued use of DailyYardSales.com after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
